What is DANO? –
Korea Summer Festival!

DANO is celebrated when Yang energy is thought to be at its highest. Festival activities are such as women treat their hair in special iris extracts and men show off their power in Ssireum (Korean wrestling). It is also customary to present DANOSUN (specially decorated fans) to friends and family in preparation for approaching long and humid summer. This year, DANO falls on 8th June.

 Food Stalls (1pm ~ 7pm)

 Korean food is well known as being both nutritious and also low in calories.
 Check out a variety of traditional food including Kimchi, Bibimbap and Bulgogi


Workshops (1pm ~ 6pm)

Make a Korean fan or try traditional paper folding within the craft workshops
Noridan will also show you how to use your body and rubbish as instruments with simple technique


 1pm ~ 4pm

 A full programme of traditional and contemporary Korean music and dance led by  musical troupe Taroo and a performance by ecological performance group  Noridan and Lee chul jin

4pm ~ 6pm

A range of contemporary music including jazz from the Guy Barker Quintet, rock from YB and Tomikita
